I had the pleasure of joining MONO for their New York show at Pioneer Works, performing as part of the LPR ensemble alongside many friends and colleagues from NYC’s new and experimental music scene. MONO, the legendary Japanese instrumental band, is known for their sweeping, cinematic sound—blending post-rock, shoegaze, and orchestral elements into emotionally charged, immersive performances. Their music is both delicate and thunderous, building in slow, expansive waves that crash with incredible intensity. It was an unforgettable experience to be part of that sonic world, surrounded by so many inspiring musicians.
